Your campaign objective, optimization goal, and bid strategy together tell Meta who to show your ads to and how to spend your budget. Get these right before anything else.

## Campaign Objectives

Adsap supports six campaign objectives, matching Meta's own:

| Objective | Best For | What Meta Optimizes |
|---------------|--------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------|
| Awareness | Reaching as many people as possible | People most likely to remember your ad |
| Traffic | Driving visitors to your website or app | People most likely to click or visit |
| Engagement | Messages, video views, post engagement or Page likes | People most likely to engage |
| Leads | Collecting leads via forms or your website | People most likely to submit information |
| App Promotion | App installs and in-app actions | People most likely to install or act in your app |
| Sales | Driving purchases and revenue | People most likely to buy |

> **Tip:** Choose the objective that matches your actual business goal. If you want purchases, use **Sales**, even if you think Traffic would be cheaper. Meta's delivery works best when the objective matches the outcome you want.

## Optimization Goals

Within each objective, you choose what to optimize for.

| Reach | Maximum unique people per day | | |

## Bid Strategies

The same four bid strategies exist with a Campaign Budget (CBO) and with an Ad Set Budget (ABO). Adsap offers the ones that apply to your objective.

| Strategy | How It Works | When to Use |
|-----------------------|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|----------------------------------------------------------|
| Highest Volume | Meta spends your budget to get the most results with no cost cap. Default. | Starting out, or when you care about volume over cost. |
| Cost Per Result Goal | Meta targets a specific cost per result. May spend less if it can't hit the target. | When you have a target CPA and historical data. |
| Bid Cap | Hard maximum bid per auction. Most restrictive. | When you need strict cost control. |
| ROAS Goal | Meta targets a minimum return on ad spend. Requires Value optimization. | When you optimize for conversion value. |

> Meta renamed these strategies: Lowest Cost is now Highest Volume, Cost Cap is now Cost Per Result Goal, and Minimum ROAS is now ROAS Goal.

## CBO vs ABO

**CBO (Campaign Budget Optimization / Advantage+ campaign budget)**: You set the budget at the campaign level. Meta distributes it across ad sets based on performance. Best when you want Meta to shift budget to top performers.

**ABO (Ad Set Budget Optimization)**: You set a budget per ad set. Each ad set gets its own fixed budget. Best when you want equal budget distribution or specific per-audience budgets.

> **Note:** Meta has been pushing advertisers toward CBO (now called "Advantage+ campaign budget"). Adsap offers both. CBO is generally recommended for most campaigns.
