Display Campaigns

Image ads across the Google Display Network: the classic standalone setup with full bid control.

Plans: Display campaigns are an Early Access feature. See Pricing.

Google is gradually folding this campaign type into Demand Gen, and at some point it will migrate existing Display campaigns on its own. Pick Display when you want the classic setup or its bid control. Otherwise the Demand Gen campaign type reaches the same Display Network inventory.

Creating a Display campaign

  1. Choose Display in the launcher.
  2. Bidding: Maximize Clicks works without conversion tracking. Google accepts target CPA on new Display campaigns without conversion history. Maximize Conversions needs history, and Adsap warns you first.
  3. Ad: a responsive display ad built from your images and texts. Google requires BOTH a landscape image (1.91:1, at least 600x314) and a square image (1:1, at least 300x300). A logo (1:1, at least 128x128) is optional.
  4. Targeting: locations and languages. Audience exclusions and finer audience work happen in Bulk Manage after creation.
  5. Validate: checks the campaign against Google without creating it, and reports exactly what Google objects to.
  6. Review & create: created paused, activate from the dashboard.
