Glossary

Advertising and Adsap terms, listed alphabetically.

A

ABO (Ad Set Budget Optimization): You set and control the budget at the ad set level. Each ad set gets its own budget.

Ad Group: The Google Ads counterpart of an ad set: a group of ads (and, on Search, keywords) that share targeting inside a campaign.

Ad Set: A group of ads that share targeting, budget, schedule, and optimization settings. Part of a Meta campaign.

Ad Sheet: A spreadsheet in Adsap for bulk ad creation. You fill in campaign details across rows and columns, then Adsap creates everything in one batch.

Ad Template: Saved ad-level defaults in Adsap (copy, asset references, creative enhancement settings). An applied template takes priority over account defaults, so you do not re-enter the same settings every time. Targeting is not part of a template; reuse it through Meta saved audiences.

Advantage Audience: Meta’s audience expansion. When on, Meta can show ads to people outside your specified targeting if it predicts they will convert.

Advantage Campaign Budget: See CBO.

AI Copilot: The Adsap integration for Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity. Connected through the MCP connector at mcp.adsap.ai, it lets you create campaigns, check performance, and manage ads by chat.

Attribution Window: The time after a click or view during which Meta credits a conversion to your ad. Default: 7-day click, 1-day view.

C

CBO (Campaign Budget Optimization): You set the budget at the campaign level. Meta distributes it across ad sets based on performance. Also called “Advantage Campaign Budget.”

Conversion Event: A specific action you want people to take on your website (e.g., Purchase, Lead, Add to Cart). Meta Pixel tracks it.

CPA (Cost Per Acquisition): The average cost of one conversion. Calculated as Spend / Results.

CPC (Cost Per Click): The average cost per click (all). Calculated as Spend / Clicks (all). Cost per link click is a separate metric.

CPM (Cost Per Mille): The cost per 1,000 impressions. Calculated as (Spend / Impressions) x 1,000.

Creative Library: Where Adsap stores your images and videos. Upload creatives here and they become available when building campaigns.

CTR (Click-Through Rate): The percentage of impressions that resulted in a click. Calculated as Clicks / Impressions x 100.

D

Demand Gen: Google’s social-style campaign type serving image and video ads on YouTube, Discover, Gmail, Maps and the Google Display Network.

DSA (Digital Services Act): EU regulation requiring ad transparency, including beneficiary and payer information on ads.

E

Extensions (Assets): Extra pieces attached to Google ads: sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets, calls, promotions, and price tables. Created once and linked to campaigns or ad groups.

K

Keyword: A search term you bid on in Google Search campaigns. A negative keyword blocks your ads from matching a term.

L

Learning Phase: Meta’s initial optimization period for new ad sets. It typically needs around 50 conversions. Performance may swing during this period.

M

MCP (Model Context Protocol): The open standard Adsap uses to connect with AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity. The MCP connector at mcp.adsap.ai lets the AI copilot read your ad data and act on your behalf.

Meta Pixel: A piece of code on your website that tracks visitor actions and sends them to Meta for ad optimization and reporting.

O

Optimization Goal: What you tell Meta to optimize delivery for within your objective (e.g., Landing Page Views, Offsite Conversions, Lead Generation).

P

Performance Max (PMax): A Google campaign type that runs one campaign across Search, YouTube, Display, Gmail, and Maps, and assembles ads from your assets on its own.

Plan: The Adsap subscription level of a workspace. Free ($0, no card) includes one ad account per platform, 10 tasks a month, single image or video ads on Meta, Google Search campaigns and the basic AI Copilot toolset. Early Access ($29/month, 7-day free trial) removes the limits and includes every feature. Managed under Settings, then Workspaces, then Billing. See Pricing.

R

Result Metric: The outcome the ad set optimized for, as Meta reports it. Not a setting: it follows the ad set’s performance goal.

ROAS (Return On Ad Spend): Revenue generated per dollar spent. Calculated as Conversion Value / Spend.

S

Search Terms: The actual queries that triggered your Google ads, as opposed to the keywords you bid on. Review them to find new keywords and negatives.

T

Task: One action Adsap performs on Meta or Google Ads on your behalf. Launching an ad, creating a campaign or ad set, and each pause, activate, budget or name edit count as one task each. Each Google Search campaign wizard run, each ad group created, and each keyword change call is one task too. A 10-row bulk launch is 10 tasks. Reads, insights, previews, targeting searches, keyword ideas, creative uploads, ad sheet drafts and previews never count. The Free plan includes 10 tasks a month, reset on the 1st (UTC) with no rollover. Early Access has no task limit.
