List ad accounts (adsap_list_ad_accounts)

Platform: Meta · Read or write: Read · Plan: All plans · Consumes a task: No · Preview supported: No

What it does

Lists the Meta ad accounts you manage, with each account’s status, currency and time zone. Use it to pick the account before any other Meta request. You can filter to active or disabled accounts.

When to use it

  • Use it first. Most Meta tools need an ad_account_id, and this tool is where the assistant finds it.
  • It covers Meta only. For Google Ads accounts, use adsap_google_list_ad_accounts.
  • It lists the accounts you can reach in your current workspace. Accounts you cannot reach are left out, with no error.
  • It reads the account list saved in Adsap. It makes no live call to Meta.
  • status_filter takes ACTIVE, DISABLED or ALL. A page holds 20 accounts by default and 100 at most.

Worked example

You ask

“Which Meta ad accounts can I work on, and are they all active?”

The assistant calls adsap_list_ad_accounts

{ "status_filter": "ALL" }

Adsap returns

The field names are the ones Adsap returns. The values are examples.

{ "ok": true, "data": [ { "id": "act_1234567890", "name": "Example Store US", "currency": "USD", "timezone": "America/New_York", "status": "ACTIVE", "business_name": null, "daily_spend_limit": null, "setup_status": "completed" }, { "id": "act_1234567891", "name": "Example Store EU", "currency": "EUR", "timezone": "Europe/Paris", "status": "DISABLED", "business_name": null, "daily_spend_limit": null, "setup_status": "unconfigured" } ], "meta": { "next_cursor": null, "total_count": 2 } }

How to read it

Each id is the value other Meta tools take as ad_account_id. status is the account status saved in Adsap. setup_status shows how far the account’s setup in Adsap went: completed, in_progress or unconfigured. business_name and daily_spend_limit are not filled in, so they come back as null.

total_count is the number of accounts that match the filter. When next_cursor is not null, the assistant passes it as cursor to get the next page.

Parameters

Descriptions are shortened from the tool schema. Your assistant sees the full text.

Notes

This tool covers Meta only. When your question does not name a platform, the assistant also lists your Google Ads accounts, or says that it covers Meta alone.

  • adsap_create_ad: Create a Meta ad (image/video) in an ad set.
  • adsap_duplicate_ad_set: Duplicate an existing Meta ad set into 1-10 copies, keeping ALL its ads (including ads with no delivery yet).
  • adsap_get_ad: Read ONE ad in full, live from Meta: its creative content (primary texts, headlines, descriptions, CTA, destination link, URL parameters…
  • adsap_get_ad_review_status: Check review and policy status of all active (optionally paused) ads in an account.
  • adsap_get_ad_set: Read ONE ad set in full, live from Meta: complete targeting spec (geo incl. regions/cities, age, genders, custom audiences…
