Creating an Instant Form

An Instant Form is the form that opens inside Facebook or Instagram when someone taps a lead ad. Meta fills in the contact details it already knows, so there is little to type.

You can build these forms in Adsap, without opening Meta’s Forms Library.

Two things to know first

A form cannot be edited or deleted once it exists. This is Meta’s rule, not an Adsap limit. You can only archive a form. Adsap always shows a preview before it creates anything, and to change a form you duplicate it with your changes and archive the old one.

A form belongs to one Facebook Page. It only works in ads that run for that Page.

How to create one

  1. Go to Ad Launcher, then Instant Forms.
  2. Pick the Facebook Page the form is for.
  3. Select Create form and fill in the sections below.
  4. Select Preview. Adsap checks the form with Meta and creates nothing. If something is missing, every problem is listed at once.
  5. Select Create form.

You can also create a form from an ad sheet. On a row whose ad set collects leads through Instant Forms, use the + button next to the Instant Form dropdown. It opens the same builder for that row’s Page, then selects the new form in the row.

The sections

SectionWhat goes in it
BasicsThe form name (only you see it, and it must be unique on the Page), the form language and the form type.
IntroOptional first screen that explains the offer, as a paragraph or a bullet list.
QuestionsContact details, short answer questions and multiple choice questions, in the order people see them.
PrivacyThe link to your privacy policy, and an optional custom disclaimer with consent boxes.
Thank-you screenWhat people see after sending: a headline, optional text, and an optional button to your website or to call you.
SettingsWho can send the form, and tracking parameters.

Form type

More volume is the standard form. Higher intent adds a review step where people confirm their answers before sending. You get fewer leads, and usually better ones.

Questions

Contact details cover full name, email, phone number, city, company name, job title and more. Meta fills them in for the person, so they take almost no effort to answer.

Short answer and multiple choice are your own questions. Meta allows at most 3 short answer questions per form. Multiple choice questions are not capped.

Privacy

Meta refuses a form without a privacy policy link, so this field is required. The custom disclaimer is optional: a title, your legal text, and consent boxes that you can mark as required.

Tracking parameters

Hidden name and value pairs sent with every lead, for example source and meta_leads, so your CRM knows where a lead came from. A parameter cannot share its name with a question. Questions are stored under names such as email, full_name, or a short version of your own question text.

Duplicate, archive, reactivate

On Ad Launcher, then Instant Forms, each form has two actions.

Duplicate opens the builder filled in with the form’s content. Give the copy a new name, since Meta refuses two forms with the same name on one Page, change what you need, preview, and create.

Archive removes the form from the list you pick from when building ads. Check first that no running ad still uses it. Archived forms sit behind Show archived forms, where Reactivate brings one back.

Using the form in an ad

  1. Create a Leads campaign, and an ad set whose conversion location is Instant Forms or Website and Instant Forms. See Creating an Ad Set.
  2. In the ad sheet, pick the same Facebook Page on the row, then choose the form in the Instant Form column.
  3. Review and launch.

Plans and tasks

Instant Forms are on every plan. Creating, duplicating, archiving or reactivating a form uses one task. Previews use none.

What is not available

Some form features exist only inside Meta’s own interface, and Meta does not open them to other apps. Conditional logic, where an answer decides the next question, is one of them. Appointment scheduling, store locator, national ID questions and gated file downloads are not available in Adsap either. Build those forms in Meta; Adsap still lists them and lets you use them in ads.

Before its first form, a Page must accept Meta’s Lead Ads Terms. If it has not, Adsap tells you and gives the link for a Page admin.

Through the AI Copilot

Ask in one sentence: “Create a lead form on my brand Page asking for name, email and phone, and preview it first.” The assistant asks for your privacy policy link, shows you the preview, and creates the form once you confirm. It can also duplicate a form with changes, archive one, or read one back to you.
