Connect Meta Ads and Google Ads to Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity

Adsap is an MCP server for Meta Ads and Google Ads. Add it once to Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity as a custom connector and sign in. Your assistant can then read account data, create campaigns, upload creatives and pull performance insights through about 90 tools. Everything it creates starts paused, and every write passes the guardrails in the safety model.

Your assistant connects to mcp.adsap.ai once with OAuth. Requests to Meta and Google pass through the server, which keeps the tokens.

Adsap works with Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity. The setup is the same on all three: add Adsap as a custom connector with its server address, then sign in once.

Adsap MCP server address:

https://mcp.adsap.ai/mcp

Prerequisites

You need:

  1. An Adsap account with at least one ad account connected (Meta or Google Ads). If you have not connected one yet, log in to app.adsap.ai , open Settings, and connect through Facebook Login for Business or Google sign-in.

  2. An AI assistant that supports custom connectors. Claude supports them on every plan, including Free. ChatGPT and Perplexity need a paid plan (see the table).

AssistantPlan requiredWhere you set it upNotes
ClaudeAny plan, including FreeWeb, desktop and mobile apps
ChatGPTAny paid plan. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or EduWeb only (chatgpt.com)Requires Developer mode. Plus is enough, including for actions that change your campaigns.
PerplexityPro, Max or EnterpriseAccount settingsConnector tools are all-or-nothing. See Troubleshooting.

Note: No assistant lists Adsap in its built-in connector directory. On all three you add it yourself as a custom connector with the server address above. Searching the directory for “Adsap” finds nothing.

Connect in Claude

Fastest way: open the Add Adsap to Claude  link, or click Add to Claude on the AI Copilot page  of the app. Claude opens the custom connector form with the name and address filled in, and notes that the values came from an external link. Check them, confirm, then continue from step 6 below. Signed-out users see a sign-in prompt first, then the form.

Manual way:

  1. Open Claude.ai  and sign in.
  2. Open Customize and select Connectors (Team and Enterprise owners: Organization settings, then Connectors).
  3. Click the plus sign.
  4. Choose the option to add a custom connector.
  5. Enter a name (Adsap) and paste the server address https://mcp.adsap.ai/mcp.
  6. Confirm. Claude sends you to Adsap’s authorization page.
  7. Sign in with your Adsap credentials if prompted, review the permissions, and click Authorize.
  8. Claude reopens with the connector marked Connected.

Connect in ChatGPT

ChatGPT custom connectors are web only. The desktop and mobile apps cannot add them. Use a browser at chatgpt.com .

  1. Open chatgpt.com  in a desktop browser and sign in.
  2. Click your profile icon and select Settings.
  3. Go to Apps, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode. Accept the warning about connecting third-party servers. On a Business workspace only admins or owners can enable it; on Enterprise and Edu an admin must grant access first.
  4. Go to SettingsAppsCreate. OpenAI has renamed this section more than once.
  5. Fill in the form:
    • Name: Adsap
    • MCP Server URL: https://mcp.adsap.ai/mcp
    • Authentication: OAuth
    • Transport: Streamable HTTP (if asked)
  6. Click Scan Tools, sign in on Adsap’s authorization page and click Authorize, then click Create.
  7. Enable the Adsap app in any conversation where you want to use it.

Note: ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it performs any action that changes your campaigns. Read the summary before you approve.

Connect in Perplexity

  1. Open the Perplexity connectors page  (in the app: Account settingsConnectors). Perplexity has no prefilled link, so fill the form by hand.
  2. Click + Custom connector, then choose Remote.
  3. Fill in the form:
    • Name: Adsap
    • MCP Server URL: https://mcp.adsap.ai/mcp
    • Authentication: OAuth
    • Transport: Streamable HTTP (not SSE)
  4. Save, then sign in on Adsap’s authorization page and click Authorize.

Verifying the connection

Open a new conversation and run a health check:

Is Adsap connected? Can you ping it?

Your assistant calls the adsap_ping tool. A working setup confirms that the Adsap MCP server is reachable and recognizes your account.

Then confirm data access:

List my ad accounts.

If your ad accounts come back, setup is complete.

A skill is a small instruction pack for your assistant, in the open Agent Skills  format. It teaches your copilot how to use Adsap well: which tools fit each job, and the safety rules (everything starts paused until you say launch). It also carries the shortest path through common tasks on Meta and Google Ads.

Download the skill from app.adsap.ai/ai-copilot . Two files exist: a standard one for Claude and ChatGPT, and a Perplexity one. Perplexity expects a different zip layout; the skill inside is the same.

AssistantPlans with skillsHow to install
ClaudeAll plans, including FreeCustomizeSkills → upload, pick the standard file (enable code execution under SettingsCapabilities first)
ChatGPTBusiness, Enterprise and Edu (not yet available on Plus)chatgpt.com PluginsSkillsCreateUpload from your computer, pick the standard file. ChatGPT scans uploaded skills before enabling them.
PerplexityPro, Max and Enterprise, inside Perplexity ComputerComputerSkillsCreate skillUpload a skill, pick the Perplexity file

Two things to know:

  • If you already have a skill named adsap-meta-ads, remove it first. That is the outdated predecessor of the current adsap-ads skill.
  • Skills do not update themselves. When Adsap ships an update, download the latest file from app.adsap.ai/ai-copilot  and upload it again.

The skill is optional. The connector works without it, but the skill makes your copilot more reliable on multi-step work.

Staying connected

Your connection renews on its own. Once you connect an assistant, it refreshes its access in the background before it expires. No reconnect on a schedule, no interruption to the tools.

Reconnect only if you revoke access from your assistant’s connector settings, or in the rare case that tools stop responding (see Troubleshooting below). Reconnecting takes under a minute and touches none of your campaigns, creatives or settings.

Security

The connection uses OAuth 2.1. Adsap never sees your assistant credentials, and your assistant never sees your Meta or Google access tokens. Every request goes through the MCP server at mcp.adsap.ai. You can revoke access at any time from your assistant’s connector settings.

Plans

The copilot follows your Adsap plan. On Free it has the basic toolset, 39 of about 90 tools, and shares the workspace’s 10 tasks a month with the dashboard. On Early Access every tool is available, with no task limit.

Two responses mean you hit a plan limit:

  • PLAN_RESTRICTED: the Free plan does not include that tool.
  • QUOTA_EXCEEDED: the workspace has used its 10 tasks for the month. Reads, insights and previews keep working; launches and edits resume on the 1st of next month or after an upgrade.

Both carry an upgrade link. You can also upgrade from app.adsap.ai  under Settings, then Workspaces, then the Billing tab. See Pricing for what counts as a task.

Usage limits

The connector limits how much it does in a short period. Ordinary use stays well inside them. They exist so one runaway conversation cannot exhaust your ad platform’s own quota, which would also hit the dashboard and your scheduled data.

LimitValue
Reading200 requests per 5 minutes
Writing50 requests per 5 minutes
Per conversationA warning near 40 calls out to Meta or Google, and a stop at 60, with a cooldown of about half an hour
Google Ads per workspaceAround 2,000 operations a day. This is Adsap’s own per-workspace cap, a share of the daily allowance Google grants the whole platform
Repeating a writeAdsap refuses the same write twice within 30 seconds as a duplicate

If you hit one, the assistant tells you and says how long to wait. It does not retry in a loop.

The 30-second duplicate window matters in one case: removing something and re-adding it straight away counts as a repeat. Leave a few seconds between opposite operations on the same entity.

For large jobs, such as building dozens of ads or applying hundreds of keyword changes, use the dashboard. Ad Sheets and Bulk Manage exist for that and have no conversation pacing.

Troubleshooting

“Integration not found” when searching for Adsap No assistant’s built-in directory lists Adsap. Add it as a custom connector with https://mcp.adsap.ai/mcp.

Tools stopped responding Connections normally renew on their own. If tools stop responding, reconnect your assistant with the steps above. That mints a fresh authorization in under a minute. See Staying connected.

ChatGPT: setup fails with a strange error such as no_biscuit_no_service You are most likely in the ChatGPT desktop app. Custom connectors are web only. Close the app and set it up at chatgpt.com  in a browser.

ChatGPT: cannot find Developer mode Look under SettingsAppsAdvanced settings. ChatGPT has moved this setting more than once. On Enterprise and Edu an admin must grant access first.

Perplexity: the connector settings panel looks empty This is normal. Perplexity shows descriptions, icons and per-tool switches only for connectors in its own partner catalog; custom connectors get the same panel, empty. The connector still works. Ask Perplexity to list what Adsap can do. Perplexity cannot yet disable individual tools: the connector is all-or-nothing.

Authorization fails or times out Log in to Adsap at app.adsap.ai  and confirm you have at least one ad account connected. If your Meta or Google connection has expired, reconnect it in Adsap Settings first.

Ping succeeds but listing accounts fails Your Meta or Google access token may have expired. Go to app.adsap.ai , open Settings, and reconnect the affected account (Facebook Login for Business for Meta, Google sign-in for Google Ads).

“DRIVE_AUTH_EXPIRED” errors This is separate from your Meta connection. To upload creatives from Google Drive, connect Google Drive in Adsap Settings. See the Google Drive Upload guide.
