Search Campaigns

Text ads against what people type into Google. Of everything Adsap launches on Google Ads, this is where your decisions matter most: you choose the queries instead of handing that to the platform.

Creating a Search campaign

Choose Search from Ad Launcher, then Campaigns.

Campaign and bidding

Name, daily budget in the account currency, and a bidding strategy. The naming placeholder suggests a shape like FR_Search_Brand_2026.

Maximize Clicks works without conversion tracking. Conversion-based strategies, Maximize Conversions and target CPA or ROAS, need conversion history. Adsap checks before Google rejects you.

Starting from nothing? Start on Maximize Clicks, gather conversions, then switch. A target CPA set before Google has seen any conversions gives the bidding nothing to aim at.

Keywords

Add keywords with their match types, and negative keywords from the start.

Use the keyword suggestions to expand from a seed list or straight from a landing page URL.

Add negatives at launch, not later. Broad and phrase match find queries you did not intend within days, and that costs real money before you notice. The obvious starting negatives are free, cheap, jobs, and your competitors’ names if you do not want to bid on them.

The responsive search ad: headlines, descriptions, final URL and display paths.

Pin position controls which slot a headline or description may appear in. Use it sparingly. Pinning everything defeats the point of a responsive ad, which is Google testing combinations, and tends to hurt performance. Pin only what has to appear, such as a legal line or your brand name in position one.

Give it the full set of headlines and descriptions. Fewer assets means fewer combinations to test.

Targeting

Locations to target, Excluded locations, and Languages. Google is removing campaign-level language targeting for Search from September 2026, so the Languages field is being phased out; Search ads match on the language of the ad. You can add audiences in observation or targeting mode.

Observation changes nothing about who sees your ads. It only reports how that audience performed. Targeting restricts delivery to that audience. Choosing targeting when you meant observation can cut your reach to a fraction overnight, and the numbers afterwards do not make that obvious.

Validate and create

Validate checks the campaign against Google without creating it, and reports exactly what Google objects to.

The campaign starts paused. It does not spend until you activate it.

Building Search ads in bulk

For many ads at once, use a Google ad sheet. One row per responsive search ad, launched into the campaigns and ad groups you pick per row. Rows that fail show Google’s own reason, so you fix and relaunch only those.

After launch

  • Ad Groups manages ad groups, keywords and negatives one at a time.
  • Bulk Manage applies keyword, negative, targeting and audience changes across many campaigns at once, and is the only place to review and remove existing negatives.
  • Extensions adds sitelinks, callouts and the rest.
  • The dashboard drills down to keyword level, and the Search terms view shows the real queries. That view is where the next round of negatives comes from.

Once there is enough history, the recommendations mine the search terms for you. They point out terms wasting money and terms worth promoting to keywords, with a button for each.

Through the AI Copilot

You can create Search campaigns by chat, and keyword work is often quicker that way than through the interface. The assistant shows a preview of the full structure before it creates anything, paused.
