Meta Ads Integration
Adsap connects to Meta’s advertising platform so you can launch and manage campaigns. Work from the web dashboard at app.adsap.ai or from the AI copilot in Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity. This page covers connecting, syncing and troubleshooting.
Connecting Meta
Step 1: Open Integrations Open Settings from the sidebar. The Integrations section is on that page.
Step 2: Click Connect Meta Click Connect Meta to start the Facebook Login for Business flow. Facebook opens and asks you to approve Adsap.
Step 3: Grant permissions Adsap asks for 14 permissions, including these:
| Permission | What it does |
|---|---|
ads_management | Create and manage campaigns, ad sets, and ads |
ads_read | Read campaign performance data |
business_management | Access Business Manager assets and ad accounts |
pages_read_engagement | Access Facebook Pages for ad delivery |
pages_show_list | List Facebook Pages you manage |
instagram_basic | Access Instagram accounts linked to your Pages |
Warning: If you skip a required permission, some features stop working. Reconnect and grant every one.
Step 4: Select ad accounts After connecting, Adsap syncs the ad accounts your login can see. Select the ones you want to use.
Data Sync
Once connected, Adsap syncs this data from Meta and caches it:
- Campaigns: all campaigns in your connected ad accounts
- Ad Sets: targeting and budget configurations
- Ads: creative and delivery data
- Creatives: not part of the sync. Pull images and videos in with Import from Meta; ad copy is never imported
- Performance Metrics: spend, impressions, clicks, conversions, and other metrics
Data syncs on a schedule in the background. You can also trigger a resync from the Integrations section in Settings.
Reconnecting
Click Reconnect on the Settings page (or ask the AI copilot) to:
- Refresh your OAuth token
- Re-fetch all campaigns, ad sets, and ads
- Update performance metrics with the latest data from Meta
Tip: If you changed something in Meta Ads Manager (paused a campaign, edited a budget), resync to pull it into Adsap.
Disconnecting Meta
Click Disconnect on the Settings page. This removes the OAuth connection. Data already synced to Adsap stays.
Troubleshooting
Token Expiration
Meta OAuth tokens expire, for example after you change your Facebook password or revoke app permissions. If the connection stops working:
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Click Reconnect to refresh the token
- If resync fails, click Reconnect to go through the Facebook Login for Business flow again
Missing Permissions
If a feature does not work, you may have skipped a required permission during setup. Disconnect and reconnect Meta, and grant every requested permission (including ads_management, ads_read, pages_read_engagement, pages_show_list, instagram_basic, business_management).
Ad Account Not Appearing
If an ad account does not show up after connecting:
- Check that you have access to the account in Meta Business Manager
- Check that the account is active (not disabled or closed)
- Resync to refresh the account list
Connection Health Banner
The dashboard shows a warning banner when your Meta connection needs attention, such as an expired token or revoked permissions.
